Vanelli Olive Oil Wins Silver Award at International Competition
The Anatolian International Olive Oil Competition (Anatolian IOOC), Turkey’s first and only internationally recognized olive oil competition, was held for the fifth time this year in Gömeç, Balıkesir. Taking place on May 3, 2025, the event attracted 420 olive oil entries from 23 countries, reinforcing its reputation as one of the most prestigious olive oil competitions worldwide.
Vanelli Olive Oil proudly earned the Silver Award in this highly competitive event with its extra virgin olive oil, produced from Ayvalık olives grown on century-old trees in the fertile lands of Tirilye.
Anatolian IOOC evaluates olive oil quality using blind tasting methods defined by the International Olive Council (IOC). The jury panel this year consisted of 26 members, 19 of whom were expert tasters from various countries—further underlining the competition’s global stature.
The Anatolian IOOC is also recognized by the EVOO World Ranking, where it scores highly among international competitions for its rigorous standards and integrity. Vanelli’s success in this competition is a testament to the exceptional quality of its olive oil and the sustainable, heritage-driven production practices rooted in Tirilye’s unique ecosystem.
Commenting on the award, Erol Türkün and Tülin Türkün, founders of Vanelli Olive Oil, stated:
“This award is not just a milestone for Vanelli, but also a tribute to the nature, dedication, and cultural heritage of Tirilye. We take great pride in seeing our extra virgin olive oil, crafted with knowledge passed down through generations and a deep respect for nature, appreciated on a global scale. This recognition shows that local values can indeed find their place on the world stage.”
Vanelli’s achievement at Anatolian IOOC marks a significant step in sharing the essence of Tirilye with the world—through the purity, taste, and excellence of its olive oil.
